What is CBD cream?

What is CBD cream

Many people believe CBD must be either ingested in edibles, taken sublingually (under the tongue) as an oil or tincture, or inhaled, such as in a vaping device. But those people are neglecting to consider the largest organ in the human body – the skin – and its overwhelming number of nerves that allow for us to perceive pleasure and pain.

There are so many conditions we already treat using topicals, such as joint and muscle pain and dry or cracked skin. What if the topicals we are already familiar with were taken to a new level with the infusion of CBD? Could the benefits and relief hit a new level, too?

At IGNITE, we certainly think so. That’s why CBD lotion and other topical products are a proud part of our lineup. CBD cream and other products are infused with CBD in order to impact the dermal and subdermal layers of the skin, which has the endocannabinoid system (ECS) just like the internal workings of the body do. And the ECS on the skin has the same goal as the internal system...stasis. In other words, the CBD in the cream acts on the ECS to bring balance and harmony to your skin.

CBD Topical Benefits

Balance to skin and calmed nerve endings sounds great. But what does that actually mean? What conditions could actually get CBD cream benefits? Some conditions that could possibly experience relief or a reduction in perceived symptoms include:

  • Chronic skin conditions such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis (eczema,) rosacea, and acne. People living with these chronic conditions may experience a reduction in inflammation, relief from itching and discomfort, and a lessening in redness associated with these conditions.
  • Painful inflammation found in joints due to arthritis, age, injury or overuse. CBD cream may calm the nerve endings and act as an anti-inflammatory, reducing perceived discomfort in the joints. The feeling of pain, numbness, tingling, and other disruptive sensations such as cold may also be reduced in people living with peripheral neuropathy.
  • Skin care such as balancing skin between oily or dry, reducing the appearance of scarring, fighting signs of aging, and soothing irritated skin are just a few of the reasons why CBD is added to so many skin care products.

Uses for CBD Cream

Topical CBD can be used to provide symptomatic relief of many conditions. And even sore muscles after a good workout or stiff shoulders from a bad day can find comfort with CBD sports cream. So what’s the best way to use CBD cream?

Like every CBD product, dosage matters. It’s always best to start with a lower dose and increase incrementally if needed. Determine what you’re trying to find relief from and start with a high quality CBD product. It’s also important to decide what kind of delivery method you want for your topical CBD, such as a roll-on oil for on-the-go comfort and calm, lip balm to relieve and prevent dryness and cracking, or a cream that can be rubbed into affected areas as needed.

Whatever you need, just heed this reminder: Do not use CBD cream or any CBD product on broken skin.

Choosing the Right CBD Cream

The worst part about trying to choose the right CBD cream is cutting through all the crap, the noise, the hype, and the fly-by-night unreliable companies that slap a trendy word (CBD) on a product without considering the quality or customer. That’s why it’s important to do your research.

At IGNITE, we only use high quality CBD from hemp grown in Pacific Northwest US farms that are committed to natural growing practices. Then we use an independent third-party lab to test our products. This means our end products are high quality and you can count on them to continue to be. We’re proud to work with farms and labs committed to the same high standards upon which we insist. We don’t compromise.
